Danish police have arrested a man on suspicion of shooting and wounding two Israeli salesmen at a shopping centre in the central town of Odense.
John Jacobsen, a police spokesman, said the suspect was a 27-year-old Dane born in Lebanon of Palestinian parents.
A court on Thursday ordered the suspect to be held for up to four weeks while police carried out an investigation.
Police said the suspect had denied attempting to kill the Israelis but acknowledged carrying a gun on Wednesday at a shopping centre in the city.
Jacobsen said the two Israelis had been selling haircare products when they
were attacked.
One man was shot in the arm and the other man was shot in the leg. Both are reportedly in a stable condition.
The attack came on the fifth day of Israeli air strikes against alleged Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, prompting speculation in Danish media of a link to the on-going assault.
