Georgia is going through one of the most turbulent times in its recent history.

While Tblisi is aiming to join Nato, its northern neighbour Russia is opposed to the move.

Relations between the countries reached a low in August when they went to war over South Ossetia.

Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgia's president, spoke to Al Jazeera about his country's plans for the future.
