River's future under threat as Himalayan glaciers show signs of retreat.

The Ganges is the lifeblood of the Indian sub-continent.  

But its future is under threat, as indicated by a UN climate report which has shown that the Himalayan glaciers, which feed the river, may disappear by 2030, meaning large parts could dry up.

Hamish MacDonald reports from the Indian mountain region of Ladakh, where one man is trying to reverse the effects of global warming.
