Afghanistan's spiralling civilian deaths  
  A UN report says the number of civilians killed in Afghanistan has jumped by 24 per cent compared to last year.
 
It says while car and roadside bombs used by the Taliban and other anti-government fighters are the biggest killers of civilians, airs raids by coalition forces have also killed scores.
