Al Jazeera has been given first access by the Sri Lankan government to a camp in Vavuniya housing refugees from the ongoing war with Tamil Tiger separatists.
The government says the “welfare villages” meet international standards, but rights groups say they are in fact detention centres. Al Jazeera’s David Hawkins reports.
