China races to rescue quake victims

Teams working to save scores of people trapped after quake in Qinghai province.

Chinese authorities have said that more than 600 people have died and up to 10,000 are injured after a powerful earthquake struck the northwestern Qinghai province.

The 6.9 magnitude quake has reportedly made 100,000 people homeless after flattening parts of the region.

Rescue operations are ongoing to save scores of people trapped under rubble.
