South Korea has launched its first rocket into space, just a week after the Naro Space Centre abandoned a first attempt because of a software glitch.
Since 1992, the country has launched 11 satellites, all on foreign-made rockets sent from overseas sites, marking the latest rocket launch South Korea's first from its own territory.
The rocket, built with Russian help, carries a domestically built satellite designed to observe the atmosphere and ocean.
Seoul says the launch is meant to get the country into the satellite market, but North Korea is sceptical.
Al Jazeera's Tony Birtley reports from Seoul.
