Still no peace in sight in southern Philippines  
 

The southern Philippine conflict almost came to an end last year but the collapse of a proposed peace deal between the government and the separatist Moro Islamic Liberation Front put paid to the resolution.

Now peace in the Muslim heartland seems further away than ever, as Al Jazeera's Marga Ortigas reports from the island of Mindanao.
