Japanese export markets hit by global economic downturn  
 

Japan's economy is heavily reliant on exports, but as the yen strengthens against the dollar it is getting harder to shift the goods.

Exporters are facing a slowdown in trade amid the global credit crunch and are having to examine other markets in order to return profits.
