The Guardian Council said it would invite the candidates who took part in the 10th presidential election to attend the council's upcoming meeting.

"The presidential candidates will be invited to the meeting to be held early next week to express their ideas and ask any questions in the presence of the Guardian Council's members," the council's spokesman Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei said on Wednesday.

According to the spokesman, the decision was made during the first Guardian Council meeting after the 10th presidential elections on Wednesday morning.

"The Guardian Council members were provided with a report on the balloting process and the election supervision by experts in its Wednesday morning meeting," he added. "The experts also answered the members' questions."

"In the afternoon meeting, a central supervisory board report of the election, along with a report about the three presidential candidates' complaints was submitted," he explained.

Kadkhodaei pointed out that the Guardian Council has asked its executive department to deal with the candidates' complaints more accurately and report the results in the Council's upcoming meeting.

The Guardian Council is tasked with overseeing the presidential election process.

The body has reportedly received complaints, about 646 different violations in the electoral process, by Mir-Hossein Mousavi, Mehdi Karroubi and Mohsen Rezaei.
