Mother of Aaron Alexis, who killed 12 in Washington, speaks out for first time as military reviews security measures.

    The mother of Aaron Alexis, the man who allegedly shot dead 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday, has spoken out for the first time, apologising for his actions.

    It came as the US military considers ways to further protect its employees from what it calls workplace violence.
