Racial make-up changing in US

Census figures show minority babies outnumbering white babies being born, with Hispanic children driving the boom.

The US reaches a turning point as minority babies begin to outnumber white babies being born, with Latino children driving the birthing boom.

Latino, Asian and African Americans made up more than 50 per cent of births last year.

The new census numbers are the result of an immigration wave that began in the US four decades ago. And, it is now predicted that in another 30 years, minorities will outnumber whites in all age groups.
