'Ground Zero' mosque approved
Opponents to the project fail to stop the plan near New York's Ground Zero.

Despite protests, the building of an Islamic cultural centre in New York city can now go ahead after a unanimous vote to clear the way for the site.

The proposed centre has become the focus of debate because it will be built near the site of the September 11th attacks.
