New York welcomes more than 80 heads of state for the UN General Assembly this week and US security officials have indicated there may be a "terror plot" afoot.

FBI agents raided several homes in the city last week and three men originally from Afghanistan now face charges.

But they have been charged only for lying to the authorities and officials say they did not find any specific information about the timing, location or target of an alleged planned attack.

As Al Jazeera's Kristen Saloomey reports, the charges against the three men reveal little about any plot or danger to the city.
