US president asks Americans to send questions about the economy over the internet.

    Some of the questions already submitted to Obama dealt with outsourcing, government bailouts and the stimulus package.

    Obama's staff used a similar method before he took office to compile a list of issues that Americans cared about the most. Topping that list was a request to legalise marijuana.

    The administration of George Bush, the former US president and Obama's predecessor, also took questions on the White House's website.
