Nigeria steps up security amid violence
Abuja on high alert amid security threats following attacks by the Islamist armed group Boko Haram.

Nigeria's capital Abuja is under heavy security following attacks in the country by the Islamist armed group Boko Haram.

Police and military checkpoints have been set up in many areas as the government tries to restore public confidence following the killing of more than 100 people by the group earlier this month.

Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports from Abuja.
