Pirates 'attack Italian oil tanker'
Spokesman for country's navy said shots were fired at the ship in the Indian Ocean but caused no injuries.

Pirates have opened fire on an Italian oil tanker in the Indian Ocean, according to the Italian navy.

A navy spokesman said shots were fired at the ship on Tuesday but there were no injuries, and that an Italian frigate was heading to the scene.

There were no further details.
