Muammar Gaddafi, the Libyan leader, is holding a public party to celebrate his 40th anniversary in power.

Fireworks, aerobatics and dancers will perform at the celebrations for the longest-serving leader in both Africa and the Arab world.

Amr Al-Kakhy reports from Tripoli, the Libyan capital.
