A parasitic sandfly mite is bringing misery to millions of Kenyans.
Known as “jiggers” the parasite thrives in poor hygiene, breeds in the human body, can cause deformities and even be fatal.
Kenya’s ministry of health has estimated that 10 million people are at risk. And, as Al Jazeera’s Mohammed Adow reports, the stigma attached is making the situation worse.
