Trump’s Fed chair nominee to face questions at Senate hearing

The chair of the US Federal Reserve is arguably the most powerful banking role in the world.

And all eyes will be on President Donald Trump‘s nominee, Jerome Powell, when he attends his confirmation hearing later today. Many are hoping for clues on how he will shape US monetary policy.

Powell would be the first Federal Reserve chairman in four decades with a corporate background.
