China eyes world leadership in dinosaur fossils
Fossil hunters launch the equivalent of a gold rush as resources for proper excavation become available in Asian nation.

Zhucheng, China – China’s growing stature in the world is increasingly pitting it in competition against the United States.
Now, in addition to rivalry in the diplomatic, military and economic spheres, comes a new race: to be pre-eminent in the discovery of dinosaur fossils.
It is only recently that China has had the resources – and infrastructure – to excavate the fossils properly.
And what the fossil-hunters are finding is the equivalent of a gold rush.
