With the country’s politics in turmoil and increasingly polarised, Egyptians have voted in a presidential runoff that pits the Muslim Brotherhood’s candidate against the last prime minister appointed by deposed president Hosni Mubarak.
Some observers reported low turnout throughout the country on Saturday and a notable absence of voter queues, though at least one group, the Egyptian Alliance for Election Monitoring, said the crowds were larger than those during the first round of voting in May.
These photos are from Damanhour, in Beheira, a governorate in Egypt’s Nile Delta.
