Aljazeera's correspondent in Gaza reports that an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft has targeted the Nabil Masud group, which is affiliated to al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, in Jabaliya, leaving two Palestinians dead and several others wounded.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has pledged to continue Yasser Arafat's struggle to gain a foothold in Jerusalem, while thousands of Palestinians have marked the first anniversary of his death.

Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas has placed the security services in Ram Allah on a "state of alert" following an incident in which fighters fired into the air inside his compound, officials have said.
