Lebanese forces clash with protesters

Lebanese security forces have clashed with hundreds of Lebanese protesters in Beirut, injuring at least one civilian.

A least one civilian was injured in the clashes

Aljazeera’s correspondent in Beirut said on Tuesday that an exchange of fire was heard in the central part of city and at least one Lebanese civilian was injured.

The correspondent said Lebanese security forces clashed with hundreds of Lebanese protesters who staged a protest in front of parliament to call for the release of their relatives, who they say are detained in Syrian jails.

The protesters also appealed to the Lebanese government and international organisations to make serious and immediate efforts to put an end to what they called a long-term tragedy.
