Lebanon mourns soldiers killed in ISIL captivity

Lebanon is observing a national day of mourning to honour 10 soldiers killed while being held captive by ISIL. Their bodies were recovered from the Syria-Lebanon border as part of a ceasefire deal in the area.

Their bodies were recovered from the Syria-Lebanon border as part of a ceasefire deal in the area.

They were captured in 2014, when the armed group briefly overran the town of Arsal, in one of the worst incidents of the Syrian conflict spilling over into Lebanon.
