US Vice President Mike Pence is in Israel for talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The visit on Monday is being boycotted by Palestinians angry at the US decision last month to name Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Pence is the most senior American official to visit Jerusalem since Washington also announced it would move its embassy in Israel there.

The city's status is a key point of contention in the Middle East peace process.

More soon.
