Liberia's election: Supreme Court dismisses Boakai petition

The election, slated for Dec 26, to replace the nation's first female president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, will go ahead as planned.

Liberians will go to the polls on Tuesday in a runoff to choose the next president.

It follows weeks of uncertainty about whether the vote would actually happen - until it was reaffirmed by a Supreme Court hearing.

Ex-international footballer George Weah is taking on the country's vice president, Joseph Boakai.

Al Jazeera's Mohammed Adow reports from the capital, Monrovia.
