Togo demonstrations: Anti-Gnassingbe protests to continue

The Togolese protesters have vowed to continue their political reform demonstrations, despite the government's offer for talks.

In Togo, thousands of people have rallied in demonstrations demanding political reform.

It's just the latest in months of anti-government protests, which have seen at least 16 people killed and more than 200 injured.

But it appears the government is softening its tough stance on protesters, saying it's open to talks with those who want the president, Faure Gnassingbe, to step down.

Al Jazeera's Charlotte Bellis reports.
