Mexican-born Rosa Maria Hernandez spent nine days separated in a juvenile immigration detention centre - before being returned to her parents.

Hernandez has lived in the US for all but three months of her life, but was discovered by border patrol in an ambulance en route to surgery.

Now, her future in the US is hanging in the balance.
